I’m enthusiastic user of cabs (and an enthusiast for taxi advertising, as regular readers will know) so I was interested to see that Verifone have teamed up with American Express (via Kinetic, and those clever sorts at Ogilvy One) for a campaign combining traditional taxi supersides with digital domination of 200 branded taxis and in-cab screens (with a further 150 taxis featuring American Express branding).

But the best bit is the ads you’re served as your cab swings through Soho (steady) waits in Whitechapel or crawls past Camden are location specific. So in the West End, passengers will see relevant theatre and entertainment ads (not that you’d want to go out in the West End, of course)  with bespoke ads for music venues as well as specific information when you’re near Gatwick, Heathrow and London City airports.

Outdoor that’s location specific is always ace – but to find a way to make it location specific for more than one location is dead impressive. I’ll be hailing one of these at the next opportunity, and will try and grab you some snaps of the screens in action.
